That’s what life feels like these days, a series of hurdles. We’re in the last legs of our house selling and the last thing that needs to be solved is the lien holders. We have lawyers on it but like all creditors, they are being a pain in the ass. They don’t seem to understand that there is X amount of money to split between the two and that’s all there is. And they seem to think we won’t just foreclose if they don’t figure it out (in which case they will each get a big fat ZERO dollars).
Assuming all of it gets worked out, we get to close at the end of the month. I have a few places that we can go check out for living arrangements between the sale and our move out of the area. Luckily some people actually responded after all those emails and such so I wasn’t left hanging out to dry. The next big hurdle is setting up all the moving stuff. It’s going to be a joy, I’m sure, since it’s gotta go through the military. They like to make everything a lot more complicated than it needs to be.
For instance, I apparently need to get a brown passport in addition to the blue one I have now -_- which is just dumb. You’d think my tourist one would be sufficient but whatever. Luckily that didn’t take much work and we’ll be finishing up the paperwork tomorrow.
Oh! And I’m happy to say that tomorrow the Navy Wives group is meeting yet again. The group doesn’t look very big this time from the RSVPs but there is one person who wasn’t at the last two so that’s good :) I’m glad this is becoming a weekly thing and that I’m getting to know some of them better. Sucks I couldn’t meet them years ago when I first started living here, but better late than never right? Hopefully I’ll be keeping in touch with them when I leave, we’ve already done the whole Facebook thing :P
Today a lady came and took Alabastor, my deaf cat. She’s taking him as a ‘trial run’ in case he doesn’t mesh with her cats but apparently everything went well and there are no incidents thus far. I’m really hoping she keeps him permanently. She has a cat similar to him that she had to put down recently so she’s dealt with cats with disabilities before, and she’s trying to fill the void that it left I’m sure. There’s another lady coming to see one of the other cats this week too so hopefully I’ll be down to just one by the end of the week!
I love my babies but they need homes, asap. I can’t take them with me and I want to make sure they get to good homes before I leave the area. Wish me luck eh?

Must be hard, saying goodbye to your cats. We have three brothers – can’t imagine handing them over to anybody else now.
