Just another Wednesday

Monday I had a great day, despite waking up at midnight. I played some Imperian and some Harvest Moon (yes, still addicted) until Joshua woke up and was out of the shower. I spent time with him helping him get ready for work and then set about cleaning the upstairs. I gathered up and washed dishes, swept and mopped the floors, vacuumed, and dusted/cleaned up all the surface stuff. Oh and I cleaned the litter boxes. Sometime in the middle of that I squeezed in an episode of Real Time for a break.

After all that I took a short breather, showered, and got dressed. At 10 I had a MeetUp with the Navy Wives group at one of the Starbucks down in Ghent. Seven of the nine girls that RSVP’d showed up, which is a pretty darn good turn out. We had a good time talking and drinking. After a bit people started leaving and it dwindled down to just me and two others. I ended up going to lunch at Panera with one, and her adorable 7 week old munchkin, which lasted quite a while. It was 3 before I got back home and settled.

Unfortunately all the cleaning and then biking in the cold air made my asthma go bonkers. I don’t usually have issues with it but those are two things that cause it to act up and I combined them. So my lungs were very unhappy. I ended up taking a nap to try and fend it off but that didn’t work. By the time it was bedtime I was wheezy and miserable. (I really need to get an inhaler…)

Then yesterday I was just sore and ick all day. My eyes were itchy and raw, my lungs were still angry, my body was sore from pushing it on the bike, and my back was killing me (caaause I’m in lovely PMDD time now). So really nothing got done yesterday until Josh came home and took me to the store for groceries and whatnot. The only thing I did was shave my cat’s neck/shoulders and bathe her to get rid of these flea bites. And I gave them a new dose of Advantage last night (and bought a little hoody for my shaved cat cause she is so tiny and always cold! She seems to be quite happy wearing it too lol).

I really, really hate this whole flea thing. I cannot get rid of them and we’ve tried everything but bombs. :(

Anyhow, I’m feeling a bit better today. I woke up around midnight again (I still can’t get more than 5 hours at a time) and I’ve been working on a bunch of different things since then. I have laundry going and I took out the huge amount of recycling – which filled the whole container. I have dishes to wash and a load of towels after the clothes are done. After that I’m done for today.

I need to vacuum and sweep downstairs but I’m saving that for tomorrow. We have the home inspector coming tomorrow afternoon and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that nothing comes up that would get in the way of our house sale. We’re in the very last steps of the process and I swear I’ll go mad if something pops up to make it take any longer >_< I mean, it would be convenient to stay in the house till the end of March (cause then I wouldn’t have to move out till I move to Texas) but I want this house sold already.

We’re doing the coffee meetup again next Monday, cept we’re going to Panera instead since Starbucks is way too small and Panera is a much better venue. And I have knitting group tonight, where I’ll be working more on my Geisha cross stitch. So I happily have things outside the house to do so I don’t turn into a crazy hermit again.

  1. I have asthma too and it can be so horrible sometimes especially in the cold weather for me too. I hope you’re feeling better and that you can get rid of those fleas soon! Luckily I never had to deal with them but I had a friend who did and it was a nightmare! I’m glad the meetup went well though and I hope you’re able to get to the next one. Ahh, I miss Panera so much! I found my Panera card on my old keychain the other day and got all sad that I couldn’t have it!

  2. Ugh, fleas. They are so hard to get rid of. You have to get one of those fleas medications that lasts a month or so. That way it keeps them off of the animals then you need to bomb. Vacuum everyday and wash sheets and whatever your animals sleep on. We JUST had to go through this. Ridiculous..

  3. Sounds like you’re keeping super busy!

Fleas suck, and they are super hard to get rid of. I would say that you definitely need to bomb the house because they’ll just hang around waiting for your pets flea medication to weaken / wear off and then jump right back on.
